BIO:
In 1973, the first and largest concert via satellite was viewed by billions world-over, this concert was called; ALOHA in HAWAII starring ELVIS PRESLEY. Some five years later (1978) AL HULL hosted his mothers class reunion as a character called ELVIS PRESLEY, only AL had his vision as to what people liked about the guy they called THE KING of ROCK. The band that was originally hired for the class reunion said they could play (30) minutes worth of ELVIS music and ELVIS Impressionist AL HULL had begun.
In 1978, AL HULL started playing with this same band singing ELVIS' music. AL's likeness, exact mannerisms and musical recreation of the KING was undeniably accurate..."its something you won't forget says the new band members." But, AL wanted to give more to the audience besides just dressing up as the KING of Rock' n Roll, he wanted to entertain by creating laughter and humor since he wasn't ELVIS himself, as many out there think they are. AL's approach was..."anyone can be ELVIS" but not everyone can entertain, so AL thought, why not add a certain "twist" to the performance. (see photo gallery for the twist) (FYI) By most estimates, ELVIS has 131 different albums and singles that have gone GOLD, PLATINUM & Multi-PLATINUM. He also has 107 TOP-40 hits, twice the number of any other Artist today! With that in mind, AL knew he was dealing with a captive audience of ELVIS fans who knew there was only "ONE" guy they called the KING, ELVIS PRESLEY was his name. AL never wanted to be ELVIS in his show, he wanted to be a character called ELVIS having fun with all ages who loved his music, but with a "twist."
For many years AL studied his craft and AGENTS from all over the COUNTRY were hiring him and his band to host many Class Reunions, Social Parties, Casino's, Festivals and Theme Parks. In 1991 AL was chosen the number one ELVIS Impressionist out of 3,000 other ELVIS characters from all over the world. AL was chosen to be the preferred character called ELVIS PRESLEY for the Florida Theme Park Industry. AL HULL signed contracts to become one of the TOP shows, he hosted (5) shows per day, (5) days per week, and with that much practice you get good at your craft.
AL was featured on the television show "INSIDE EDITION" in 1993, they hosted many stories that day about ELVIS IMPERSONATORS around the Country, but only "ONE" stood alone, AL HULL. The TV SHOW called INSIDE EDITION called AL HULL and asked for an interview, the interview received WORLD exposer and that created a whole new management company to be hired by AL. AL's contracts with Anhauser Busch Theme Parks, Universal Studios & MGM Studios in Florida became the highlight of AL's career. AL found out it was very difficult to perform that many times per day and per week, but the crowds were in the thousands and AL just couldn't give it up. As AL approached his third year with all the Theme Parks in Florida he knew his time was limited no-matter how much he loved the guest of each of the Parks.
In 1994, AL and his friend LEE GREENWOOD hosted the largest outdoor concert at CYPRESS GARDENS in Florida, over 20,000 attended the concert. AL was asked to open the show before LEE GREENWOOD took the stage, both of these shows had AWESOME ENDINGS, remember ELVIS sang the song called... THE AMERICAN TRILOGY for endings to most of his concerts and LEE GREENWOOD is known for having the song called...PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN, at the endings, both shows had $10,000 worth of Fireworks shot off over the lake while the songs were ending. According to the local newspaper, there wasn't a dry eye in the house after both of these remarkable entertainers closed their shows, it was called the MOST PATRIOTIC SHOW IN THE COUNTRY! Thousands of letters flooded the GARDENS and hundreds of shows were booked.
In 1996, AL and his close friends Sandy and Ed Fritzler decided to pursue the dreams they all had of building a Premier Show Hall for Al to perform his show in, along with other popular artists. Thus Legends Cafe and now Legends Entertainment was born. (Note) Al's show at the Legends in Galesburg,IL has SOLD OUT every show for the last (10) years bringing in people from all over the Midwest.
Ten years later AL still performs for the Theme Park Industry around the country, including; Lady Luck Casino in Bettendorf, IA, ~ Jumers Rock Island Casino in Rock Island, IL, ~ Paradise Riverboat Casino in Peoria, IL, ~ The Isle of Capri Casino Bettendorf,IA, ~ Terribles Lakeside Casino in Osceola, IA ~ The Villages of Florida, Festivals all over the Country, Weddings, Corporate Parties, & Social Parties.
In 1997, AL and his new buddy CHUBBY CHECKER hosted a show in Davenport, Iowa at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. Over 15,000 attended the show and AL HULL received the Ultimate Reward..., CHUBBY wanted to ride AL's motorcycle onto the stage that night, so AL said "YES" but the manager for CHUBBY said "NO" its to risky! CHUBBY said he didn't ride much, so AL told him to ride it around the race-track to get the feel, so CHUBBY took off around the track causing everyone to sweet bullets until he made it back safely.
In 1999, AL played with his all time favor favorite Quartet called THE JORDANAIRES, yes, ELVIS' original Back-up Singers from 1956 to 1971. AL would play the next several years touring with THE JORDANAIRES and history was recreated according to newspapers everywhere they played together. AL's says...MAN, THEY SOUND JUST LIKE THEY DID ON ALL THE RECORDS! Talk about the highlight of your career.
AL's been with many celebrities and national touring stage acts, way to many to mention.
One thing that will keep you talking after his show is the mural that Al spray paints of Elvis while singing the song Memories. At the end of the song the mural is auction off to the highest bidder with the proceeds in the form of a check is written out to a CHARITY of the bidders choice. The murals have gone from $250.00 to as much as $5,000 and NOT one penny has AL received for this stunt in his show. He has donated over $480,000 dollars to (7) different charities across the country since 9-1-1. (Note) THE JORDANAIRES told AL...PLEASE KEEP THAT IN YOUR SHOW, OUR OL'FRIEND ELVIS WOULD HAVE LOVED IT!!! What started out as a one time stunt, has turned into a part of AL's normal show today, and still raising money for charities. We GUARANTEE no other ELVIS SHOW in the WORLD use's this in there show.
Recently, on Sunday October 21, 2007 Al was contracted to host the first ELVIS GOSPEL EXPERIENCE for two Methodist Church's in his area. This show sold over 2,200 tickets in less than (30) days, needless to say, ELVIS' Gospel Music is still as powerful as it was over (40) years ago when he recorded the three albums. Did you know ELVIS won his only Grammy's for his Gospel Albums? Al and his management team are adding this as another separate stage show, Al says...The promise of bringing together thousands of people within today's generation really says something about the word from GOD, and its through his Gospel Songs.
Note; Not just another "ELVIS TRIBUTE" dressing up in a hairpiece and costume doing a KARAOKE ELVIS SHOW, but instead a multimedia extravaganza, a cultural timepiece, a show that appeals to audiences of all ages. Critically acclaimed by Newspapers & Television around the country as the best vocalist and Impressionist ever to do ELVIS in CONCERT. ~ NO OTHER TRIBUTE COMPARES, CALL OUR REFERENCES!
